Personal photos

The photos below are from Rounds 7&8 of the 2002 BTCC at Silverstone where the Make A Wish Foundation took me there and gave me a big treat after i was severly ill in hospital. Read the story on my personal experiences page and see a few of the snaps we took of the people we met and the places we went.

Here we are in the hospitality suite in the paddocks at Silverstone where Warren Hughes and Anthony Reid are signing an MG X Power flag that we was given. This place was class!

Here i am leaning on Warren Hughes MG ZS in the MG X Power pit garages after being shown around the car by a member of the team. This is a hot set of wheels.

I saw every garage of every team that weekend and i also saw the privateer team , Team Atomic Kitten. This car nothing like an Atomic Kitten. I would call it an Atomic Cheetah! Very smart cars and this one is Colin Turkington who gave the Works MG's a run for thier money.

Left to Right : Gareth Howell , Amy (My sister) , Adam (Me) , Colin Turkington. Here is the two MG atomic Kitten racers. We met them in the team marque in the paddock.

Here you can see the 2002 Champion James Thompson getting into his car to qualify. this photo is taken above the Vauxhall pits in the press room and at this moment i was on the MG pit wall with Dick Bennetts the WSR boss and the rest of the team watching Warren and Anthony take pole for both races.

This is once again taken in the MG team marque in the paddocks and it is a picture of West Surrey Race Engineering (WSR) , Dick Bennetts. he showed us around the trucks and we had a chat with him in the lounge that was on the truck.

Here is Anthony and me talking in the back of his pit garage. He is explaining different things about the tyres and what he might do on race day.

Recognise the faces? I did. This is a picture of Mark Blundell (Right) , Me (Centre) and Kevin Mc Garrity who raced at Le Mans with Anthony and Warren almost a week later in the Lola built MG.

This is my favourite photo of them all as it is of nearly all of the MG X Power team and my family. Far left is my mum and dad , far right is Me , my sister , Anthony and Dick Bennets. We are all standing around this MG ZT Turbo as this was the car which Anthony took me out on the Silverstone circuit in. the speed we reached was phenominal and evidence of this is the large dent and scratch on the right hand side of the front bumper. that is where we took a bollard out on the kerb. It was a fantastic experience.
